3. Platform Overview

Ihsan Marketplace is a specialized marketplace connecting students worldwide with qualified Islamic educators for:
Quran Studies (including memorization, Tajweed, recitation, and Tafsir)
Arabic Language instruction
Islamic Studies (Fiqh, Hadith, Seerah, Aqeedah, etc.)
Islamic Tarbiyah for children and teenagers
Islamic Anasheed (Islamic songs/chants)
Maqamat (melodic modes for Quranic recitation)
Azan (call to prayer instruction)

4. User Accounts and Registration

4.1 Account Creation

To access our Services, you must create an account by providing accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4.2 Age Requirements

Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent
Parents/guardians are responsible for minors' use of the Platform
We comply with applicable child protection laws including COPPA

5. Teacher Verification and Standards

5.1 Teacher Application Process

All teachers must complete our comprehensive verification process, including:

Background checks where legally required
Teaching demonstration and interview
Ongoing compliance with our Teacher Code of Conduct

5.2 Teacher Qualifications

Teachers must demonstrate:
Authentic Islamic knowledge and proper credentials
Teaching experience and methodology
Commitment to Islamic values and educational excellence
Technical capability for online instruction

5.3 Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers agree to:
Provide accurate information about qualifications and experience
Maintain professional conduct aligned with Islamic values
Deliver services as described in their profiles
Respond promptly to student communications
Comply with scheduling and cancellation policies

6. Student Rights and Responsibilities

6.1 Student Rights

Students have the right to:
Receive services as described by teachers
Access qualified, verified Islamic educators
Request refunds according to our policies
Report concerns about teacher conduct or service quality

6.2 Student Responsibilities

Students agree to:
Provide accurate information during registration
Attend scheduled lessons punctually and prepared
Treat teachers with respect and professionalism
Follow cancellation policies
Pay for services as agreed

7. Booking and Scheduling

7.1 Lesson Booking

Students may book individual lessons or course packages
All bookings are subject to teacher availability
Confirmation is required from both parties
Payment is processed at time of booking

7.2 Scheduling Changes

Schedule changes must be requested according to teacher policies
Both parties should accommodate reasonable requests when possible
Platform may mediate scheduling disputes

8. Payment Terms

8.1 Pricing and Fees

Teachers set their own rates within platform guidelines
All prices are clearly displayed before booking
Platform commission is deducted from teacher payments
Students pay the full advertised price

8.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through our payment partners
We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and other approved methods
All transactions are in USD unless otherwise specified
Payment confirmation is required before lesson access

8.3 Platform Commission

Ihsan Marketplace retains a commission from each transaction
Commission rates are communicated to teachers during registration
Rates may be adjusted with 30 days' notice to teachers

9. Cancellation and Refund Policy

9.1 Student Cancellations

24+ hours notice: Full refund or rescheduling
2-24 hours notice: 50% refund (subject to teacher policy)
Less than 2 hours/No-show: No refund (subject to teacher policy)
Emergency situations: Case-by-case review

9.2 Teacher Cancellations

Teachers must provide reasonable notice for cancellations
Students receive full refund or priority rescheduling
Repeated cancellations may result in teacher account review

9.3 Satisfaction Guarantee

First-time students may request refund if unsatisfied with initial lesson
Request must be made within 24 hours with valid reason
Subject to review and our Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

10. Code of Conduct and Community Standards

10.1 Islamic Values

All Users must:
Respect Islamic principles and values in all interactions
Maintain appropriate conduct befitting an Islamic educational environment
Avoid content or behavior contradicting fundamental Islamic teachings

10.2 Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:
Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior
Sharing false or misleading information
Violating intellectual property rights
Using the Platform for non-educational purposes
Attempting to circumvent our payment system
Creating multiple accounts for deceptive purposes

10.3 Content Standards

All content must:
Align with Islamic educational purposes
Be respectful and appropriate for all ages
Respect copyright and intellectual property rights
Comply with applicable laws and regulations

11. Intellectual Property

11.1 Platform Content

Ihsan Marketplace owns all rights to our platform design, logos, trademarks, and proprietary content. Users may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

11.2 User Content

By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use, store, and display such content for platform operations. You retain ownership of your original content.

11.3 Educational Materials

Teachers retain rights to their original educational materials
Students may use provided materials for personal educational purposes only
Redistribution or commercial use of materials is prohibited without permission

12. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect and process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

12.2 Student Privacy

We are committed to protecting student privacy, especially for minors, in compliance with applicable laws including COPPA and FERPA where applicable.

12.3 Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect user data, though no system is completely secure.

13. Platform Availability and Technical Requirements

13.1 Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
We are not liable for service interruptions beyond our control

13.2 Technical Requirements

Users are responsible for:
Reliable internet connection
Compatible devices and software
Meeting minimum technical specifications for video lessons

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1 Platform Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IhsanMarketplace's liability is limited to the amount paid by the user in the six months preceding any claim.

14.2 Educational Outcomes

We facilitate connections between students and teachers but do not guarantee educational outcomes
Teachers are independent contractors responsible for their own services
Students' educational progress depends on various factors beyond our control

14.3 Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for third-party services, including payment processors, video conferencing tools, or external links.

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Islamic Principles

In accordance with Islamic principles of justice and reconciliation, we encourage amicable resolution of disputes through direct communication and mediation.

15.2 Platform Mediation

For disputes between students and teachers, we offer mediation services. Both parties agree to cooperate in good faith with our mediation process.

15.3 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Wyoming state law and federal law of the United States. Any legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of Sheridan County, Wyoming, or the appropriate federal district court.

16. Account Termination

16.1 Termination by Users

Users may terminate their accounts at any time by contacting support. Unused lesson credits may be refunded according to our refund policy.

16.2 Termination by Platform

We may suspend or terminate accounts for:
Violation of these Terms
Fraudulent or illegal activity
Repeated policy violations
Conduct harmful to our community

16.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:
Access to the Platform ceases immediately
Outstanding payments remain due
Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination

17. Modifications to Terms

17.1 Updates

We may update these Terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or platform notification.

17.2 Continued Use

Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

18. Miscellaneous
